Throwback to 1986 & 1987
Before she became Scranton’s most iconic ship on land, she was just beams, boards, hard hats, and a whole lot of determination. These snapshots take us back to the long days (and longer nights) of building Cooper’s legendary ship addition — from pouring concrete and raising masts to hanging nautical décor inside.
Every nail, every tile, and every plank was set by hand — by family, friends, and locals who believed in creating something truly one-of-a-kind.
Today, thousands of guests climb aboard each year — but these photos remind us where it all began.
