It has been a little while since I ate at Cooper's Seafood House. I was running errands in the area and wanted something for lunch that I had not had in a while--seafood! I was there for lunch & had a great meal, from appetizers to main course! The service was outstanding (Thanks, Becky). Also, I have always loved the aesthetics, decor & atmosphere of Cooper's and have purchased memorabilia from "the walls" from the gift shop many times. All the hosts & hostesses are always fast, friendly, efficient, and managed very well (Thanks, Nicole). The wait staff are always friendly, courteous, accurate and fast. The wait staff and the bartenders always engage well with the customers, whether you are a regular, occasional or a first timer, all no matter how busy. I would also like to add that I appreciate Cooper's involvement with & support, including the very enthusiastic promotion by its employees, of local charities, specifically in this instance, Dr. Jen’s Hope 11th Annual Memorial Benefit for Brandon's Forever Home & the Adopt A Single Mom Project. Thank you all for the great food, great service and great community support! Just one thing... Bring back the alligator soup!

The shark bites was fantastic, the steak was ok. The service could have been better. The server did not mention all the side options for the main course and I got baked potatoes instead of the mashed potatoes I ordered.

The dinner I had last night was more lackluster than I would have expected. I had ordered the BBQ Salmon burger and the crab cakes as an appetizer. The crab cakes were 15 dollars, and we were served 2 small crab cakes on a bed of wet salad. Not worth the money and the crab cakes themselves were well seasoned but dry and a bit crumbly. The BBQ Salmon burger, was the most disappointing part. The burger was a puck of Salmon that was completely void of flavor and not flavorful or juicy in anyway. The tomatoe on the sandwich was, I kid you not, almost half an inch in thickness. I added salt and pepper and still didn't enjoy any of the burger unfortunately. The fries were phenomenal and the BBQ sauce was amazing as well. I'm overall pretty disappointed because this seems unbecoming of a restaurant like cooper's and I hope that this is a small, short term error and that it wouldn't happen again. I didn't complain in restaurant because it was close to closing and I felt bad about bothering the staff. I'm not sure if I'd come back because I unfortunately left the restaurant disappointed. Pricing, portion size and seasoning/flavor needs a bit of an overhaul before I'd truly reccomend it.

This was our first visit here and it was absolutely amazing!! Our waitress, Mary T., was very welcoming!! She took the time to welcome us and explain about the restaurant! We are so happy we had her for our waitress, as she made our visit awesome. She was attentive to all our wants and needs! We will be back with family and friends and look for our waitress again! Thanks Mary, Kevin and Renelle

Amazing place! Great food and beer! Sadly I bought a few souvenirs and my fave one wasn’t put in my bag by the cashier. It was a coopers brewing magnet with the octopus! I was so bummed when I got to the hotel and we left back for Canada before your store opened 😞. If you can mail me one it would make my day! My fridge NEEDS a Coopers magnet!!!!

We were in the area and the hotel recommended Cooper's as a unique dining experience. Well, we were not disappointed. We had excellent food and because of Simone, our server, a great dining experience. She was knowledgeable of the entire menu, and very personable. The Martinis were excellent as well. Thank you and thank you Simone.

$ 14. 00 for nickel sized rubber steamed clams . Very disappointing . I was satisfied with the meal your appetizers are the problem. And I doubt they would have given me another dozen on the house .

We're sorry to hear about your disappointment with your steamed clams. I hope you mentioned it to your server and were able to get another order. My sincere apology Patrick and I hope you will give us another try. Sincerely, Paul Cooper

I think if you're an office fan, this is a must..at least the store. We went on a Thursday night, seemed pretty busy. We ate inside. We waited an hour for two apps and 30 mins after for our food, party of 4. Food was delicious but waitress sucked.

Responded - July 19, 2024

Hi Julie, We appreciate your feedback. I am so sorry about the wait times, we'll address this with our team. Glad you enjoyed the food! Sincerely, Paul Cooper

As an Office fan, I loved this place. As a seafood fan, I loved this place. The signature fish dish was fantastic. The fish and chips were great. I came another time and had a totally different experience. I keep forgetting that not all scallops are day boat scallops. I hate bay scallops and it's my own fault for not clarifying. Our first visit was in the charming bar area where scenes from The Office took place. The place is way bigger once you venture beyond that section. Still, enjoyable. The drink menu is playful. The staff was terrific. On my second visit, they had closed the souvenir shop, but they opened it so i could buy a hoodie. The Buffalo branch requests expansion into the Queen City for better access, but it's a great place to head for a pilgrimage of all things The Office.

Thank you so much Mela for your lovely note. My brothers and I are so appreciative that you loved everything about your visit with us here at Coopers. Thanks for making the pilgrimage from Buffalo and hope to serve you again when you come to Scranton. Very kind regards, Paul Cooper

We came to Cooper’s to celebrate a family member’s birthday. We knew the food would be great but, as always, the Staff made the day! We had a great time and came away happy and content with great memories to share of the Cooper experience. Thank you!

If you are an Office fan, then I highly recommend you stopping by and check out this charm. We spent more time looking at the decorations and collectibles than eating. The vintage train that runs around the restaurant is AMAZING. there are surprises at every turn! We are not locals but the connection that the restaurant has with its community is heartwarming.

Responded - July 16, 2024

Dear Bing, Thank you for that sweet review! So glad you enjoyed the Office-themed decor and our vintage train! We love connecting with our community and visitors alike. Please stop in again whenever you are in Scranton. Sincerely, Paul Cooper

The best experience my family and I have ever had at a restaurant! The quirky decor didn't fail to amaze us at every turn, from the huge Kraken on the roof to the old scuba gear in the main hallway. For eats I highly recommend the Shark bites: comes with a fun badge you can wear! Also the classic fish and chips is HEAVENLY. A clean, friendly atmosphere with courteous staff and excellent food: we're definitely going back soon!!!👏

We ordered the Just Seafood entree and it had the tiniest portion that was over cooked and was overpriced. Not worth the hype or atmosphere.

I'll try to be brief. ... When first approaching, you are greeted by an architectural wonder. From the life-like octopus, to the pirate ship, to the large geodesic dome.... You can't help but to be struck in wonder. Pro tip on parking: if you have a fresh baked pie from your awesome cousin who's really good at baking pies, then you can back your car up into the vines growing along the fence to help shade your car. Once you get to the entrance the friendly staff will sort you onto two different paths depending on your desire to enjoy the tiki bar or dine inside. Since the heat index was over 100F during our visit, we opted for the inside. There were a number of people still sitting outside, but I guess they have just resigned to the reality that we will continue to live in an ever warming world. The walk to the host stand is not that far but you are already getting to sense a theme. The nautical bent of the seafood restaurant is still heavily affected by the nuclear-bond level of energy that The Office US TV show exerts on this town and everything in it. The friendly hosts collected the number of people in my party, handed me a card with my info and directed me to "walk down the very long hallway to the second host stand." And boy are they right. It's a very long stroll through a sea of kitsch memorabilia. It was definitely interesting to view, my only complaint was the low hanging American flags that line the entire hallway. The American Flags slapped me in the face the entire walk. The walk definitely set the mood if you were going for "current American political environment." (A ton of kitsch with American flags slammed in your face every 2 seconds) Once you get to the second host stand, you are greeted by several cast of the office and a local host. That host will direct you to your table. The dining room we were placed in is a spacious room with a high ceiling and a model train that runs loops around the room. It even goes through a tunnel and crosses a sizeable trestle. The seats are comfortable and the dining area appeared reasonably clean. The menu has a well sized selection of food and the food we ordered was timely and had good taste and temperature. My wife's Caesar Salad may have actually been hiding a small metropolis based on it's size. But, even with the gargantuan size, the flavor was consistent and crisp. My scallops, applesauce and house salad we're all very tasty and warm. The only complaint about the food was overheard in the women's restroom. My wife reported that two women in the stalls were having a conversation and one said to the others that she didn't enjoy her shrimp. (With that info, I steered clear of the shrimp) The wait staff was also very attentive. He checked in on a good cadence, brought our food in a timely manner, and had a friendly demeanor. The only setback he suffered was he wasn't able to clear all the dishes from the table in one trip because he had over stressed his biceps working out the day before and was still recovering. But good for him for putting fitness first. The check came in a timely manner but we did not feel pressure to get the table turned and we were able to finish our drinks and wrap up the meal in a peaceful manner. On the way out, we did spend some time checking out the restaurant's extensive collection of kitsch. From the Barbie collections at our booth, to the 50/60's music group themed bathrooms, to the children's toys and displayed weapons... It was truly an American experience. Overall, I'd definitely come back if I was in the Scranton area again.

Today our waitress Ashley, took care of us! My family and I are visiting Scranton and love The Office so we decided to check out Coopers. Ashley was super kind and gave amazing recommendations. She gave us lots of attention while also having a bunch of other tables which I know is difficult since I used to be a waitress. 10/10 experience! Amazing beers on draft as well!!!

First of all our waitress Jessica wasn’t the most pleasant. we asked for Splenda for iced tea and it took another five minutes to bring it when it was right on the counter behind us. She forgot to bring coleslaw for one of the guests at our table and eventually went back and got that she was not in any hurry and she wasn’t the most congenial. The food was subpar especially the Crab is that has definitely changed and the mashed potatoes look like something they might serve in a nursing home. no rules anymore or type of bread on the table and everything was an up charge. Lobster dinner special I will go to LUCAS in Taylor. They are very generous and offer you more than friends french fries and coleslaw with your lobster tail. There was no follow up as far as if we wanted another drink or anything else, she did ask if our meal was OK. it has really gone downhill since last time I was there and unfortunately, I had several guests with me for a birthday dinner. I’m not looking for anything for nothing. I just want to be aware to go somewhere else because it’s not as good as it used to be. Whatever you did to the crab bisque was awful. Coopers just isn’t what he used to be.

The fish tacos may have been the biggest/packed fish tacos I have ever had. So good. The only reason I’m not giving 4 stars is because when we asked our waitress a question about the beer her answer was “oh I don’t know, I don’t pay attention.” Being the service industry I feel like it should have been I’m not sure let me get an answer for you. For reference we ordered a pale ale. The beer that was delivered to the table was more of a dark IPA, not pale at all. Other wise our meal was good, atmosphere was great service is definitely lacking.
