‘The Office’ hilariously celebrates 1 million YouTube subscribers
Just be glad The Office is on YouTube and not paper view.
The show’s official YouTube account hit one million subscribers this week, despite its final episode airing way back in 2013. After years of posting videos with over 585 million combined views, this is a big deal. To celebrate the milestone, the channel uploaded a new video to thank the fans for making it happen. Of course, they (Michael Scott, probably) found the perfect clip for the occasion.
In it, Michael Scott is talking to his Dunder Mifflin employees as a TV behind him shows the current subscriber count at 999,990. As the number gets closer to 1 million, the group gets antsier and antsier and Michael continues to talk, unaware of what’s happening. Finally, the number ticks from six figures to seven figures and everyone cheers.
The scene is a slightly edited moment from season 4 episode 5. As Michael delivers a quarterly report, the employees watch a DVD screensaver behind him as it gets closer and closer to hitting the corner of the screen. When the logo hits the corner, everyone cheers.
