We here at Cooper’s Seafood House have taken great pride in compiling and maintaining this extensive beer list. Unfortunately, due to matters beyond our control, some of these hard to find beers may occasionally be out of stock.

Don’t forget to ask for our seasonal bottled beer with an additional  300 beers and our constantly rotating draft list.

DOMESTIC BREWS (USA)

BUD LIGHT: Brilliant pale gold, pleasant malt aroma, slight
malt and hop finish.

BUDWEISER: Well balanced with a crisply hopped finish.

COORS: A Mild lager noted for its purity, Brewed in Golden, Co.

COORS LIGHT: Very pale yellow-gold, light malt aroma.

GENESEE BEER: Mellow balanced with a dry aftertaste.

GENESEE LIGHT: Light body with a pleasant dry finish.

MICHELOB: Gold, good body, hop finish. Our German friend Erhard Frieb drinks this while visiting!

MICHELOB LIGHT: Similar to the original with only 136 calories.

MILLER: A good American lager. The champagne of beers.

MILLER GENUINE DRAFT: Medium body with a slightly drier finish.

MILLER LITE: For those watching their weight. Only 96 calories.

PENNSYLVANIA BREWS

APPALACHIAN JOLLY SCOT ALE: (Harrisburg) slightly sweet but well balanced, this brew is a real treat. Break out your kilt and try one!

APPALACHIAN MOUNTAIN LAGER: (Harrisburg) A crisp, lightly hopped lager that is perfect for those who don’t want
anything too different!

APPALACHIAN PURIST PALE ALE: (Harrisburg) One of the most popular new beers. Well hopped and clean flavored, it is sure to please.

BREWERY HILL POCONO LAGER: (Wilkes-Barre) A hometown favorite that is rivaling Yuengling Lager in popularity!

ROLLING ROCK: (Latrobe) Noted for its mountain spring water.

STEGMAIER 1857: (Wilkes-Barre) A gold metal winner at the Great American Beer Festival! A full-bodied lager, and a must try for out-of-towners.

STEGMAIER PORTER: (Wilkes-Barre) Opaque and reddish-brown with a sweet finish. Great with raw oysters!

STOUDT’S SCARLET LADY ESB: (Adamstown) A mildly bitter red ale that is very English tasting. Goes great with red meat!

STOUDT’s AMERICAN PALE ALE: (Adamstown) A superb
version of a pale ale. Crisp and hoppy with a fine malt accent.

STOUDT’S ABBEY DOUBLE: (Adamstown) A wonderful domestic version of a Belgian dubbel ale. Malty sweet and high in alcohol. 25oz bottles only.

STOUDT’s ABBEY TRIPLE: (Adamstown) Another great
example of a Belgian specialty ale, this time less sweet but
higher in alcohol. 25oz bottle.

STRAUB: (St. Mary’s) Very dry and clean. Goes well with most any food.

YUENGLING PREMIUM: (Pottsville) Brewed at the oldest
operating brewery in the U.S. A Must Try for out-of-towners.

YUENGLING BLACK AND TAN: (Pottsville) The one that started the Black and Tan craze! A blend of the premium and the porter, dark but not heavy.

YUENGLING CHESTERFIELD ALE: (Pottsville) A clean and crisp version of an India Pale Ale. Lots of hops!

YUENGLING LAGER: (Pottsville) Darker and more flavorful than the Premium, this has become very popular.

YUENGLING PORTER: (Pottsville) A medium-bodied porter with a hint of licorice.

CLASSIC MICRO-BREWS

ANCHOR LIBERTY ALE: Anchor’s version of a IPA. Well hopped and slightly bitter, this is for the true hopheads out there.

ANCHOR PORTER: One of the first porters to be successful
nationwide. Dark and well roasted, is id one rich brew.

ANCHOR STEAM BEER: Brewed in San Francisco, this is the only true American brewing style. Complex and flavorful, a house favorite.

BLACKENED VOODOO LAGER: Brewed in Louisiana, this Kulmbach-style lager is nicely malted. The Bayou’s finest brew.

BALLENTINE ALE: An honest ale with a lot of flavor and finish. An old favorite among established ale drinkers.

BLUE HERON PALE ALE: Brewed by one of America’s premier microbreweries, Mendocino Brewing of Calf. , this pale ale is sure to satisfy anyone.

CAVE CREEK CHILI BEER: For the lover of hot things! This
brew actually has a pepper in the bottle!

DIXIE LAGER: A crisp lager with a medium body and a semi-dry aftertaste. A Mardi Gras favorite in New Orleans.

HARPOON INDIA PALE ALE: The most popular of the Harpoon brews! A hoppy ale that is quite refreshing. Adam and Bren from Ace highly recommend it.

J.W. DUNDEE’S HONEY BROWN: A mildly sweet, amber brew that has taken Scranton by storm! A very big seller!

KILLIAN’S IRISH RED: A smooth, red ale brewed by Coors.

MENDOCINO REDTAIL ALE: One of the most popular microbrews in the U.S. Refreshing and flavorful, it is consistently one of our best sellers.

OMMEGANG ABBEY ALE: Brewed in Cooperstown, New York, this version of a Belgian dubbel is sure to be a hit with beer drinkers. 12oz bottle.

OMMEGANG HENNEPIN ALE: A rare version of a Grisette-
-style beer that is somewhat light and dry. Hints of herbs are noticeable. 25oz bottle.

OMMEGANG RARE VOS: A splendid version of a Belgian Golden ale that is brewed near the Baseball Hall of Fame.

OTTER CREEK COPPER ALE: One of the best selling brews in Vermont, this amber brew is an excellent version of a
British session beer.

OTTER CREEK PALE ALE: More hoppy than the Copper Ale, it has a crisper finish and a little more character. Very drinkable.

OTTER CREEK STOVEPIPE PORTER: A ruby-hued roasted
brew that is surprisingly easy to drink. One of our personal
favorites for a middle-of-the-road beer.

PETE’S WICKED ALE: The classic American Brown Ale with a chestnut brown color and an extremely complex flavor.
Very popular around the country.

POST ROAD PALE ALE: Another big seller from the beer
Mecca called Vermont. Perfect balance of malty sweetness
and hoppy bitterness.

ROGUE DEAD GUY ALE: Don’t let the name scare you, this is one tasty brew. A lightly hopped version of a German boc beer, but slightly darker.

ROGUE HAZELNUT BROWN ALE: A Superb version of a classic British brown Ale. Rich and full-Flavored, we highly recommend this one.

ROGUE SHAKESPEARE STOUT: One of the stoutest stouts you’ll ever try. If you like dark beers try this on for size. John Wandalowski’s favorite.

ROGUE IMPERIAL STOUT: A very powerful dark brew that has an expresso-like character. Very enjoyable as an after-dinner drink in a snifter. 7oz

SAM ADAMS BOSTON LAGER: Regarded as the best beer in
America! Bronze in color with a malty flavor and a light hop finish.

SAM ADAMS CREAM STOUT: A well made version of this
typically English style brew. Rich and chocolaty.

SIERRA NEVADA PALE ALE: One of the most popular
micros brewed today. Very full bodies with a great deal of
hoppy aftertaste. A true pale ale!

SIERRA NEVADA PORTER: Truly one of the best porters brewed anywhere in the world.

SIERRA NEVADA STOUT: Recognized as one of the best beers made in the U.S. Creamy smooth with a bit of burnt flavor, it is great after dinner. (or before)

AUSTRALIA

COOPERS STOUT: Once very popular here, this brew was
unavailable for a while. A strong stout (6.8% vol) with a fruity, coffeeish finish. Rated 4 stars by Michael Jackson

FOSTERS 12oz: A light lager, which has the lowest amount of calories of any non-light beer. The beer from “Down-Under”.

AUSTRIA

EDELWEISS HEFE-TRUB: A Fruity, unfiltered version of a wheat beer. Cloudy and somewhat hazy with a very unique character. Don’t mind the sediment.

BELGIUM

BELLEGEM’S BRUIN: A gold medal winner at the Worlds Beer Championships in the Belgian Red Ale category. Fruity and spicy with a vibrant mouth-feel and a light sour flavor.

CANTILLION ROSE de GAMBRINUS: A true Belgian frambois, this is a raspberry ale with a tart, sour finish. 25.4 oz bottle.

CHIMAY BLUE ALE: Another of the Belgian Doubles, rich and fruity with a complex combination of flavors. Joe Brier’s favorite!

CHIMAY CING CENTS: Chimay’s version of a triple, this ale is lighter and spicier than the blue. Only in 25oz bottles

CORSENDONK MONK’S BROWN ALE: One of our most popular ales. Fruity and a little smoky, it matures very well in the bottle.

CORSENDONK MONK’S PALE ALE: Lighter in color and less fruity than the Brown. This triple style has more alcohol and in nice for sipping!

LINDEMAN’S CASSIS LAMBIC: A very rare beer that utilizes black currants in the flavor. I dare you to find this beer anywhere else in Scranton!

LINDEMAN’S FRAMBOIS LAMBIC: A Belgian Specialty! Wheat ale is brewed with fresh raspberries to produce the most unique beer style in the world. More akin to a sparkling wine! Our best selling lambic beer.

LINDEMAN’S GUEUZE LAMBIC: A unique blend of young and old lambic beers. Traditionally sour with a lot of effervescence, it is great before dinner.

LINDEMAN’S KRIEK LAMBIC: Brewed with sour black cherries, this sparkling ale is very nice as an aperitif or with dessert.

LINDEMAN’S PECHE LAMBIC: Fresh peaches are used to flavor this wheat ale. Very much like peach wine. Cork finished!

DUVEL: Roughly translates as “The Devil”, this is absolutely, without a doubt, one of the best beers in the world! Champagne-like and somewhat dry. It has one of the most complex flavors that you will find in any beer. Usually in 25oz bottles.

ORVAL TRAPPIST: Our best selling Belgian. Brewed with white candy sugar to give it an almost champagne-like character.
Unfiltered and somewhat cloudy.

BRAZIL

XINGU: This beer is the result of interactions between German settlers and the Brazilian natives. Very similar to a stout.

CANADA

LABATTS BLUE: A clean, dry, full flavored brew that
finishes nicely.

LABATTS 50 ALE: One of our favorite Canadian ales.
Full-bodied with an English style bitterness in the finish.

MOLSON GOLDEN ALE: Largest selling ale in N. America.
Light in color and texture, it is brewed for easy drinking.

MOLSON ICE: This brew is lowered below freezing and excess water is removed to give it a smoother finish and a higher
concentration of alcohol.

MOOSEHEAD: Good, clean beer. “The Moose is loose”

CHINA

TSING TAO: A crisp lager from the other side of the globe.
This beer is brewed with pure Laotian spring water!

CZECH REPUBLIC

PILSNER URQUELL: The first pilsner beer ever brewed and the standard for this style worldwide. Made in Pilsen, Czechoslovakia. The Captain’s Choice!

DENMARK

ELEPHANT MALT: Sweet and malty in character. A good bit higher in alcohol than the average brew.

ENGLAND

BASS ALE: Buffalo Bill Cody’s favorite beer! A classic English ale, full-bodied malt with a dry, crisp finish. Also on tap.

ABBOT PUB ALE: Served in a nitro infused can to mimic a hand drawn ale. Impeccably Smooth

JOHN COURAGE: Brownish in color, heavily malted and fairly sweet. One of our best selling British ales!

MACKESON STOUT: A superior example of the English Cream Stout! Sweet as opposed to the more bitter Guinness. The choice of cricket champions!!

NEWCASTLE BROWN ALE: One of the most sought after brews in the world. The perfect example of a Brown Ale. Try one today, you won’t be dissatisfied.

OLD NICK BARLEYWINE ALE: This is high test! Quite sweet with a noticeable alcohol nose. One of Der Biermeister’s all time favorites.

OLD PECULIAR: As the name indicates, this is not an ordinary ale. Much darker and richer, it is almost in the stout category. Most popular!

RAM ROD ALE: A Classic example of an English Pale Ale, malty with a very dry finish. A favorite of many a ale lover!

SAMUEL SMITH ENGLISH STOUT: Brewed with all-natural ingredients and lagered for a full two months. This is a true
English lager.

SAMUEL SMITH’S IMPERIAL LAGER: Originally brewed for the czars of Russia, this is a world classic. Rich and creamy and high in alcohol. Not for the faint of heart!

SAMUEL SMITH’S INDIA PALE ALE: The newest addition to this classic beer line. Hoppy and crisp, this ale has a tad more bitterness that the other products.

SAMUEL SMITH’S BROWN ALE: A Dry pub ale with just a hint of hazelnuts. By far one of our best sellers!!

SAMUEL SMITH’S OATMEAL STOUT: Brewed with a smidgen
of Scottish oatmeal for a rich and creamy texture and
bittersweet palate. Stout drinkers heaven!

SAMUEL SMITH’S PALE ALE: The Yorkshire Squares used for fermenting create an impeccably smooth brew. Brewed the same way since 1758!

SAMUEL SMITH’S TADDY PORTER: Widely considered the best of its style in the entire world. Deep brown and silky smooth goes great with raw oysters!

YOUNG’S BLACK CHOCOLATE STOUT: A complex, dark brew that has hints of coffee and chocolate. Hard to find, but well worth the search.

YOUNG’S DIRTY’S DICK ALE: Names for Young’s Famous
British tavern, this mild ale is a classic session beer.

FRANCE

FISCHER AMBER: A full-bodied amber ale with a dash of hops. Brewed in Strasbourg. 22oz flip-top bottle!

FISCHER BITTER: Lighter in body and quite bitter in comparison. Very popular and also comes in a 22oz flip-top bottle.

GERMANY

AUGUSTINER BRAU: One of the best German Helles beers available in the US. Light, but tasty, we highly recommend it.

AUGUSTINER BRAU MAXIMATOR: A wonderful example
of the Bavarian dopplebock style of beer. Rich and malty,
this is one hearty brew.

AYINGER ALTBARISH DUNKLE: A splendid example of a
Bavarian dark beer with a warming, sweet flavor and light
coffee-like finish.

AYINGER JARHUNDERT: Originally brewed for the brewery’s 100-year anniversary, this is one of the most authentic German beers available in the states.

AYINGER BRAU-WEISSE: A fantastic example of this German specialty. Excellent with salads and fruits. Light and flavorful.

BECKS: The best selling German brew in America. A light bodied beer with a fair amount of hops.

BECKS DARK: A darker amber-brown version with a lot more hops. Plenty of hops for everyone!

BITBURGER PILSNER: Perfect example of a German Pils and Jack Cooper’s favorite!

CELEBRATOR DOPPLEBOCK: A true German Dopple-bock. Dark brown with a lot of malty character and a touch of hops. You’ll feel like you are in Munich!

D.A.B.: A bit lighter and sweeter than a pils, this is a fine Dortmunder brew.

DINKELACKER: Brewed in Stuttgart since 1888. This beer is hopped 4 times with six varieties of hops resulting in a crisp and refreshing brew.

DINKELACKER DARK: A longer kilning of the malt results in a darker beer with a roasted aroma and a long dry-malt aftertaste.

HOFBRAUHAUS BIER: Quite possibly the premier version of a German Helles-style beer. Malty, but not sweet, crisp, but not bitter. 4 Stars for this one!

HOFBRAUHAUS KINDLE WEISSE: Unfiltered and somewhat cloudy, this wheat ale has hints of citrus and cloves, but is not overpowering. Excellent during warm weather!

HOFBRAUHAUS OKTOBERFEST: According to our beer swami, this is exactly what you would get if you were in Munich for the real festival.

PAULANER HEFE-WEIZEN: Our best selling Hefe! Cloudy with an immense head. Citrus and cloves abound!

PAULANER PILSNER: A true classic among German pilsners. Incredibly crisp and satisfying. Don’t overlook this gem!

PAULANER SALVATOR: Deep brown with lots of malt and noticeable alcohol flavor. A great double bock and Scott Tarone’s choice as best German beer!

SPATEN MUNICH: Another perfect brew in the pils style. Hops abound throughout.

SPATEN FRANZISKANER HEFE-WEIZEN: A dry, spicy full-bodied version of a hefe-weiss beer. A lot of cloves are noticeable. Bobby Lyon’s Favorite!

SPATEN FRANZISKANER DUNKLE-WEIZEN: A maltier, fruitier version of their unfiltered hefe-weizen. Hints of apples and plums are evident.

SPATEN FRANZISKANER KRISTAL-WEIZEN: Filtering of the hefe-weizen results in a lighter, crisper weisbier that is similar to a pilsner in body.

SPATEN OPTIMATOR: Full bodied double bock with a lot of malty sweetness balanced well with a touch of hops in the finish. Compares with the salvator!

ST. PAULI GIRL: One of the best selling German beers in the states. A little lighter in the hops to appeal to American tasted.

WARSTEINER: The best selling beer in Germany! Complex combinations of malt and hops in the flavor. A very fine Pilsner and Mike Sandone’s Favorite!

HOLLAND

AMSTEL LIGHT: Pale gold, dry malt taste, light hop finish. Best selling imported light beer in America!

GROLSCH: Bright gold with a hop aroma. Traditional Dutch style with good balance between hops and malt. 16oz flip-top bottle! Wrap your tulips around this brew.

HEINEKEN: The best selling imported beer in America! Crisp and dry, this brew goes well with all foods. Wooden shoes optional.

INDIA

TAJ MAHAL: Deep gold and highly carbonated. You’ll find a lot more malt than hops in this brew.

IRELAND

GUINNESS STOUT: The most popular stout in the world over! Dark and creamy with a sharp bitterness. “Guinness is good for you”

GUINNESS PUB DRAFT: Much smoother and less bitter than the bottled version. Close to what a draft Guinness tastes like. 14.9 oz can.

HARP LAGER: A German style lager with a touch of hoppy bitterness. Great for true Irish “hop-heads”

MURPHY’S IRISH STOUT: An opaque black stout, which rivals Guinness in popularity. Not quite as bitter but just as creamy! 14.9 oz bottle

ITALY

MORETTI: One can taste the German influence immediately. Lightly malty with a lot of hops. A fine beer in the pilsner category!

PERONI: A well-balanced version of a German hellesbier, this brew is very light and surprisingly drinkable.

JAMAICA

RED STRIPE: “The beer of Jamaica!” A crisp and clean lager. Very similar to American lagers, but with an island feel.

JAPAN

KIRIN: The best selling Japanese beer in the U.S. A little sweeter than German Pilsners, it is quite satisfying. President Bill Clinton’s favorite when he came to Cooper’s on April 10th 1993!

SAPPORO 22oz: a totally barley brew, no rice here. Brewed in Tokyo since 1876.

MEXICO

CORONA: The second largest import next to Heineken! Light and refreshing served with a lime.

DOS EQUIS XX: A Medium-bodied reddish beer with a malty flavor and a crisp hop aftertaste. Well-balanced!

NEGRA MODELO: Brewed with a lot of German influence, this brew is much like the Vienna-style lager. Bitter sweet with roasty chocolate character. The best from South of the border.

POLAND

POLANDER: Golden-colored with a nice floral aroma. A well-balanced beer from a recipe that dates back over 200 years!

SCOTLAND

BELHAVEN SCOTTISH ALE: Light malty aroma and a smooth, creamy finish thanks to the nitrous can. Exactly what you will get “over there”

BLACK DOUGLAS ALE: A full bodied dark ale that is arich and malty in flavor. It gets its name from one of Scotland’s ,most tenacious knights.

MacANDREWS STOCK ALE: A very strong nose of a malt and a thick texture. Somewhat smoky in flavor. A good sipping beer!

Mc EWANS INDIA PALE ALE: Lighter than there scotch ale, this brew still has a malty character but it carries a more prominent hop aroma and finish.

McEWANS SCOTCH ALE: A classic in the scotch ale category. Sweet and malty with just a touch of dryness.

MERLIN’S ALE: A traditionally mild scottish ale that is very easy drinking. Named for the wizard who was a legend in the area

TENNENT’S LAGER: A light, golden lager that s quite refreshing. A Scottish tradition since 1885.

TRAQUAIR HOUSE ALE: Fermenting in uncoated wooden vats imparts a touch of oaky flavor to this unique ale. Brewed in the oldest house-brewery in Scotland.

SWITZERLAND

SAMICHLAUS: the worlds strongest lager! Great for sipping after dinner. Vintage dated.
